We’ve seen quite a few age groups come to us. Zu’s experiences range from middle school students applying to magnet high schools to international candidates navigating the complexities of medical residency applications. It really just depends on what you need.

We don’t speak too specifically on specific individuals out of respect for their privacy, but we’ve been fortunate to have absolute standouts in the past — individuals that truly do deserve all that’s coming their way. From working with an immigrant that secured a full scholarship to their top choice to an international applicant that recently received an acceptance to his first US university, we’ve been blessed to work with absolute stars. No. While this was how we started, we’ve since pivoted into consulting and mentorship; our name might thus even be a bit of a misnomer. Zuhayr absolutely still can tutor for the ACT but has largely focused on working with individuals on essays, résumés, and general applications in the last several years.

Many of the meetings are often over Zoom. Zu makes himself available to all of his mentees over phone and text, however, so the conversations generally occur regularly over the course of the time spent working together. For some students, this has even meant texting Zu daily as an essay deadline approaches or requesting a call with Zu the night an application is due. We’ll find time.

This is the tricky part. Availability is quite limited and dependent on Zu’s schedule. Zu isn’t currently taking on anymore students, for example, but is happy to meet to discuss specific situations regardless.
